Wizard Sex

Wizard Sex is the mischievous, loud, rock 'n' roll that dragged itself out of the East River after losing a knife fight with the blues. After befriending front man Dmitry Wild and getting to know the rest of the band, I was asked to develop an identity that reflected their brash, punk-inspired ethos. The guys wanted a mark that felt energetic, personal, and human.

Rock 'n' Roll is My Business

I directed a music video for Wizard Sex's first single, “Rock 'n' Roll is My Business.” Collaborating closely with front man Dmitry Wild and video editor Courtney Eady, we created a 70's punk-infused showcase of the band's irreverent and raw, yet quirky and humorous personality. The opening title sequence features the identity as well as kinetic sculptural typography.

New name, same band

As bands are known to do, Wizard Sex decided to change their name after a personnel shakeup. They loved the aesthetic of the original logo and commissioned me to create a similar solution to show off their new moniker.
